Ive never heard of you not being paid while you went to school through them. Try going to a community college and see what programs they have to offer.

What kind of schooling do you have to get to be a Pediatric nurse?

Question by volturi33: What kind of schooling do you have to get to be a Pediatric nurse?
The kind of Ped nurse that works in the nursery with newborns only, all the time.
and what’s a BScN or whatever?

Answer by Brazilian Barbie™
Get your BScN (4 years at a good university)… to become a RN. Then maybe in some of your clinicals and placements you’ll gain experience in the peds field. Then in turn you can add that all to your resume when you apply for a job opening.

a BScN is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing… which = 4 years of university… which you need to be an RN (at least in Canada)

How much does a hospital nurse get paid?

Question by bookworm: How much does a hospital nurse get paid?
I was thinking of becoming a nurse and i was curious how much they get paid each year (United States)? I was thinking of focusing on becoming a neonatal nurse. What type of schooling does that require? What does it take to work in the NICU? Any info. on nursing is welcome. Thank you!

Nurses make $ 40,000+ per year depending on the state an specialty. To become a nurse, you’ll need to take prerequisites (anatomy, physiology, etc.) and apply to a nursing program. You can get an AA in nursing (2 years) a BS in nursing (4 years) a MS in nursing (6-8 years) or a PhD in nursing (8-10 years). After you gain you RN license, you can apply for positions in the NICU, no “special” schooling required after becoming an RN.

Q&A: How do I become a Registered Nurse?

Question by taylor: How do I become a Registered Nurse?
I will be graduating with a bachelors in biology this May 10′ and i have recently thought about becoming a nurse. Can someone tell me what i need to do since i will already have a degree?

Best answer:

Answer by RAK525
I am in the same position except I graduated with a biology degree May 09′. Do you need a bachelors in nursing to become a RN or can I get an associates degree instead? It seems wasteful to go for another bachelor’s degree when I already have one.

Is it better to take a College Now chemistry class or AP biology if you’re interested in being a nurse?

Question by Maddie C: Is it better to take a College Now chemistry class or AP biology if you’re interested in being a nurse?
I’m a high school student interested in becoming a nurse and at my school they offer a College Now Chemistry class as well as an AP Biology class. What would be the better class to take? I can only do one of them.

Probably doesn’t make much difference, as which ever one you don’t take you will take in the nursing pre-reqs, provided both get you college credit. If both don’t then take the one that will carry over into your nursing pre reqs at college.

Q&A: How long do I need to nurse my son every two hours?

Question by jane d: How long do I need to nurse my son every two hours?
My son is 6 days old, and I have been feeding him every two hours, more or less. At night I take a little longer of a break, but not much longer. The thing is that it’s wearing me out. At what point can I nurse him on demand? Right now I’m waking him up every two hours, and sometimes I feed him in between if he shows signs of hunger.

I think my milk supply is in good shape now.

Answer by ~Mommy of 5 month old Kalel~
as long as he wants. it will soon change. you can start nursing him every 2-3 hours and at a month i would let him sleep up to a a 5 hour stretch if he sleeps that long. then, when he wakes himself for feedings and his weight gain is stable, you can move on to on demand nursings. congrats on your bundle mommy and congrats on breastfeeding. it is the best thing you can do for your bub. i know it is hard, but it is worth it and won’t be this hard for much longer. :-D

Honestly, the easiest way to go (if you don’t have your LVN yet) is to do CNA, then LVN, then RN.

Good luck!
