Question by Heidi: Is a nurse allowed to have visible tattoos?
I’m currently in school to become a nurse. I have a tattoo that you can see on the back of my neck that continues on down my back. You can only see it on my neck when my hair is up. It’s just a star design, nothing offensive. Can this hinder my chances of getting a job as a nurse? Thank you for any and all answers!

Sometimes you can declare Nursing as your major during your freshman year. It really depends on what the admission requirements are to be admitted to the Nursing program.
This is how it normally works, when you apply for admission, you apply for a specific degree program (major). If you meet the admission requirements are and admitted, you will be admitted into the degree program of your choice thus majoring in a particular program. So, if you apply for the Nursing program and you are admitted, your major will be considered to be Nursing.
Keep in mind that some schools may not admit freshman straight into the Nursing program. They may require prerequisites prior to your admittance. It’s best to contact the school you are interested in attending since admission requirements can vary from school to school.
Best wishes!

Depends what the employee hand book says where she will be working.
Most places probably don’t allow excessive jewelry because it looks unprofessional.
