The accelerated programs are usually for people with background in the field, maybe LPN’s. The traditional BSN would lead to being eligible to take the state test for your RN certification.

Question by Dani S: so im going through the application process for the Vocational Nursing program at Kaplan College?

Don’ t! Kaplan is not respected as it is a for-profit proprietary college.

You will get a better education in your field at your local community college for much less money. If there is a waiting list for the program there, get on it, even if you have to wait tables while you wait on the list. Best wishes.

What is the application process for a CNA (certified Nurse Assistant)? What jobs do they do in the hospital?

Question by CHELLE: What is the application process for a CNA (certified Nurse Assistant)? What jobs do they do in the hospital?

Best answer:

Answer by James
okay, here in california you can get a job as an NA at any hospital or nursing home. Most places will offer the CNA class where you work, and it takes about 6 weeks to complete. You can also take a class at any community college to get certified in 6 weeks. The job duties are taking vital signs (blood pressure, temp, pulse, ect…… You pass out meals and help patients with their activities of daily living. I have a friend that is a RN and she started as a CNA. She has made it very clear that she prefers to work in a hospital and not a care home, because the patients are more independent and need less personal care.
