Qualifications in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta are as follows:
You attend a college or University that offers a bachelor’s degree,,,you are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and there is an active chapter on your college campus.
Of course other things factor in such as community service, GPA, and letters of recommendation…

Question by PNay: What’s the easy step, Do a LVN or attend Community College to get into nursing program?
Best answer:
Answer by ………………………………
It all depends on what college it is! Some LVN/LPN programs have a long wait list, so what would normally take 1 year without a waiting list, may now take 2 years.
The Associate Degree Nursing program to be an RN at some colleges only takes 2 1/2 years….others, like what I mentioned with LVN/LPN, may have a year or two wait list for the clinical phase.
It all depends on what you think is easier….as far as academics- obviously the technical certificate vocational/practical nursing would be easier.

Question by Miracle: What age is to late to attend Nursing College?
Now that my daughter is a Sophomoree in high school and my sons are grown and on their own, I was considering going to college to receive my Bachelor Degree in Nursing. The only problem that I’m having is, I’m 41 years old and thinking about attending college for four years. What are the odds of a 41 year old women becoming an RN? Does that even exist? My children thinks this is a wonderful thing to do. But, I must admit, I do have butterflies about it. Although, I have been praying to God about this, and I am really considering doing it, I really need lots of support. What do you think? Shall I go for it?

Answer by Dumpster_Rentals
Yes, go for it. There is nothing more reassuring than the experience and maturity that you would bring to a nursing job. By just getting to 41 you have accumulated life experience and perspective that will make you invaluable as a good nurse. Yes, the educational process may be daunting at time, however, surviving teen age children is more of an ordeal!!!!
Just do it. And let us know where you practice just in case we need a great nurse!

Question by Mz.CJB: What’s a good college to attend in Atlanta Georgia for Registered Nursing?
I plan to move to Atlanta at the end of 2007. I want to go to school for Registered Nursing and I need a heads up on different schools I could look into. I have been out of high school since 2003 but I am a very intellegent woman so taking an admission test shouldn’t be a problem if that’s what they require.
Any suggestions?

Question by ‘ SaLiNa: how many years of college must i attend to be Pediatric Nurse?
I want to become a Pediatric Nurse , and i want to know what’s the requirements to become Pediatric Nurse. And what class must i take in high school to obtain that?
Also what’s the salaries of Pediatric Nurse earn per years?
Best answer:
Answer by Alexandra
Quite a few. It’s a Master’s degree, but those are currently being weeded out in the field. Soon all nurses will only have the option of a Phd above a BSN. I think you can try to work in pediatrics as an RN, but a lot of people want that job, so it’s tough to get. Usually when you 1st start, you don’t get your 1st choice of job.

There are hospitals that will pay the tuition for nursing school in return for agreeing to work for them for two years after you get your RN. Contact some nursing schools and see if they have such an arrangement with a hospital. You can also call the personnel dept of some large hospitals in your area.
