Why don’t you take a refresher course and get your license back? We could sure use you. There is such a shortage in nursing. Without your license, you could be an aide for floor work, or maybe some admin job clerical job.

Qualifications in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta are as follows:

You attend a college or University that offers a bachelor’s degree,,,you are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and there is an active chapter on your college campus.

Of course other things factor in such as community service, GPA, and letters of recommendation…

you’ll find a job no matter which one you choose, but i would recommend a 4-year college. if you have a BSN RN you will have more opportunities to move up in nursing such as management opportunities. more hospitals are looking for 4-year degree nurses over 2-year degree nurses for that reason.

I am Interested in becoming a nurse(RN). What school wod be more beneficial to attend, a nursing school ( Lancaster general 2years full time 2years partime while working as a nurse), or a four year college (west Chester or Penn state 4 years full time)? Both would eventually get me my BSN.

You’d have much better luck finding a job depending on how impressive your resume is, so a 4 year college that gives you more experience and more challenge would be beneficial.

Q&A: Community nursing college vs. four year school?

Question by Derica H: Community nursing college vs. four year school?
Whats the difference in going to a four year school for nursing and going to one of those community schools and getting a degree within a few months?(Besides the time frame of course).

Best answer:

If you are only interested in a certified nursing assistant field then go to the two year school and get the certificate. That will allow you to work as an assistant to nurses like in Dr. offices, home care, and facilities. If you plan on furthering your education to be a Dr., RN, Nurse Practitioner, etc. you need to go to the four year school. Those are higher degrees and they pay a lot more :)

If I go to a two year college for nursing can I transfer to a four year college for two years?

Question by Fun Size: If I go to a two year college for nursing can I transfer to a four year college for two years?
What I’m basically trying to say is if I go to a community college for nurse…can I transfer to a four year college and only complete two more years there and not a whole four years

Best answer:

Answer by Sarah
Yes, as long as your credits between the two schools are transferable. Many students start at a community college then transfer for an additional 2 years at a 4-year-school. Check with your particular community college to see about transferring and what classes can transfer. Good luck!

IS it stupid to go to a four year college for nursing?

Question by PrettyBrownEyes: IS it stupid to go to a four year college for nursing?
Someone told me that you can become a RN in two years at a community college. If I plan on going to a University like Southern or Illinois State, is it purposeless? Should I just go to a community college? But I really want to go away to college. Tell me what you think!

P.S.What college or Universities have good nursing programs?

A BSN-RN in nursing will often lead to more promotional opportunities than a two-year RN from a community college.
