What’s a good college to attend in Atlanta Georgia for Registered Nursing?

Question by Mz.CJB: What’s a good college to attend in Atlanta Georgia for Registered Nursing?
I plan to move to Atlanta at the end of 2007. I want to go to school for Registered Nursing and I need a heads up on different schools I could look into. I have been out of high school since 2003 but I am a very intellegent woman so taking an admission test shouldn’t be a problem if that’s what they require.
Any suggestions?

Middle Georgia Technical College (in Cochran) would work well for both of you. You can also check out:
Atlanta Georgia Tech. College
Central Georgia Tech. College
Macon State College
Flint River Tech. College
Middle Georgia is flight crew instruction, the others are more powerplant and airframe.

Any reciprocity on licensing between GA & FL? Or do you have to take exams & get GA license? If covered by reciprocity, go ahead and apply noting FL license & reciprocity. If no reciprocity, note FL license & application for GA license is being processed. Put that info in your cover letter.

What experience do you have? Rotations in school? What else? Even if you can get in some volunteer work, it will help.

Check out other states’ requirements as well! And see about nearby universities to places where you apply to see about getting into BSN program while you’re working.

Question by Felecia D: How do I begin registered nursing school in Georgia when I have never attended college?
Becoming a ob/gyn nurse practioner is one of my biggest goals for myself, but I don’t know where to begin being that I have never attended college before.I ultimately want to deliver babies. I have a love for it. If someone knows how I can get into school for this field, please by all means, respond to my question because I don’t know where to start. I have a G.E.D. , and I know that I will have limited choices, but I am extremely determined to become an OB/GYN doctor.

GSU School of Nursing is one of the top programs in the country. I hope you can get in – it is highly competitive. The student – faculty ratio is about 8:1, which is outstanding and you will definitely get to know your professors and not be shunted off to some mega-classes taught, usually badly, by TAs.
