Is Chamberlain College of Nursing a good school or waste of time and money?

Question by Dan: Is Chamberlain College of Nursing a good school or waste of time and money?
I live in Ohio and I have been trying for the longest time to get into a nursing program or any program. I just want to get into a health sciences program ASAP and finish so I can get my life going. I was turned onto Chamberlain College of Nursing because it seems like it would be easy to get into and can be done online if you would like. I just need to know if it is worth the time and money or if I will just be wasting my time? If you have heard things or experienced things with or about this program please help me out. I am open to other colleges of recommendation or programs of recommendation. A little about me that may help. I am male, have many prerequisites finished, had a 3.8 gpa coming out of high school, intersted in health programs such as nursing, radiation therapy, medical sonography, radiologic technology, pretty much anything in the health field. I just want a high paying job where I can work in the medical field helping other and I would like to get it finished in the next 2 or 3 years. Thank you for any help you can give me!

If you want to hear from current students and alumni, that’s a great place to start. Chamberlain is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, ncahlc.org. Question by more than words: I want to be a nurse when I am older so I am wondering do nurses make good money?
and I heard that nurses don’t have lives because they must always be on call for work. Is this true? Can nurses make their own hours? And is it easy to find a job as a nurse right now or is the medical industry packed tight?

My brother’s studying to become a physicians assistant. It sounds like a good deal to me. The pay is almost the same as a doctor but you only need 6 years of school. You also aren’t liable for malpractice suits (but the doctor can still fire you if you mess up).

He’s has lots of offers for a job and he just started medical school.

I’m looking for a college in New Jersey (that’s where I live) with a good nursing program, but not impossible to get into. I get A’s in all my classes except Math and Spanish, which I get B’s in. (I’m not too great with languages, and Trig is just impossible!)

Thanks so much!

Jobs Q&A: What are some laid back medical field jobs with good salaries?

Question by P: What are some laid back medical field jobs with good salaries?
I’m researching the different jobs in the medical field. I’m not interested in becoming a nurse or PT or any type of assistant. I’m looking for a job that is not too time consuming so that after med school and when I have an established family, I can actually spend time with them… something like an optometrist. I don’t mind spending time in school, and I do well enough in school, so i don’t mind hard work in school.

How is is x-ray or anesthesiology?… Any suggestions would be great!

The only job in the medical field that is not completely stressful is in the file room of a hospital. There are still some hospitals that are not completely electronic yet. Please be aware that EVERY job in the medical field is very stressful at least part of the time and there is a lot of work to do. Optometry is really laid back, right up until the kid comes into your office who just got out of the hospital because they eyeball was shot with a bb and had to be sliced open so now they need glasses. Every field in the medical profession has some kind of crisis every day. It’s not the stress that will get you, it is how you deal with the stress.
