Does anyone know of any jobs that require a pilot license and a paramedic license?

Question by nealm7: Does anyone know of any jobs that require a pilot license and a paramedic license?
I am not talking about helicopter “life flight” type jobs. Those operations have a helicopter pilot “who usually doesn’t have a medical license” and a flight nurse “who usually doesn’t have a pilot license” . I am a commercial pilot and a paramedic. I am looking for a job that I could use both of my skills. (Possibly in a setting like Alaska). I have spent a lot of time researching this and all I have came up with is helicopter type operations.

No, not really. If you were a doctor, then you could do something in a place like Alaska, Africa or New Guinea, or the Australian outback if you owned your own plane. As a paramedic, you’re dreaming. It would be a good skill to have to get hired as a bush pilot, but it isn’t something you’d have an opportunity to be paid for. I flew in Alaska for many years and I know what’s what about it. However, since the majority of bush flying is seasonal, being a paramedic would be a good second job to get you through the winter until the next summer flying season, which is roughly April through September.

Not particularly so far. The hardest thing is having confidence on clinical placements.

Expect a mix of groupwork, roleplay, lectures, practical exams, clinical placements in a variety of areas. Expect a fair amount of biology, maths and communication skills. And lots of annoying presentations lol. It’ll probably be about 85% female on the course.

It’s good I recommend it.

Q&A: Do someone know can I change my college major from nurse to pharmacist?

Question by Jinyan: Do someone know can I change my college major from nurse to pharmacist?
I will go to BMCC (community college) first and then transfer to a senior college. However there is only nursing programs provided and actually i want to be a pharmacist.

To be a pharmacist, you need to either apply directly to a 6-year BS/PharmD program, or instead earn a bachelors degree in something (chemistry is good) with pre-pharm classes, and then apply to a pharmacy school after college. Nursing isn’t going to help you here. If you can’t take chemistry at your school, transfer to a school where you can.

That depends on what state you are in and what hospital you want to work in. Some states are proposing the BSN as entry level.

The ADN/AS will seriously limit your employment opportunities and may reflect negatively on your employment reviews for raises and advancement if you have no desire to get more education.

UIC’s College of Nursing is considered to be one of the best. Also, since it is a public school, it’ll be a lot cheaper than a private school.

Does anyone know any good 2nd shift jobs?

Question by Astral: Does anyone know any good 2nd shift jobs?
Just looking to bounce ideas here, see if I haven’t thought of anything. I’m trying to stay on my boyfriend’s schedule and I’m a HORRIBLE morning person. I have experience in customer service, reception, clerical work and nursing assistant jobs (though I’m looking to veer away from nursing homes).

Please, no work from home or start your own business crap. Tried it, hated it. Or anything that needs extra schooling. Thank you. Spammers/smart a**** will be reported.

Question by miss addicted: How do you know if you are able to handle jobs involving injuries?
More or less, the “morbid” jobs, doctors, paramedics, nurses, morticians/funeral directors, crime scenes, etc? How do you know you can handle the ‘ick’ factor?
I mean, I’ve got an iron stomach when it comes to the goriest horror movies, but how do you know you can handle it in real life?

I feel that in the course of your training you see enough pictures, video and on-hand training to get pretty jaded to the nasty stuff, and those who don’t really won’t last too long in the programs.
