would it be less stressful, more stressful, or about the same to be a ultrasound technician than a nurse?

Question by marklar: would it be less stressful, more stressful, or about the same to be a ultrasound technician than a nurse?
I am considering becoming an ultrasound technician/sonographer or a nurse. A nurse has more job demand, but a technician might be more enjoyable. I’m not sure which one I would like better. I would appreciate any information that would help me decide. Thank you!
would I be able to find a job in almost any location I wanted if I were a technician? or would that require even higher job demand, like being a nurse. I might like to live in or near Seattle, Washington.

It would be much more stressful to be a nurse. Their job demands much more from them and they see much more.

Jobs Q&A: Why do X-Ray techs get paid more than nurses when a nurse has to go to school longer?

Question by InvisibleWar: Why do X-Ray techs get paid more than nurses when a nurse has to go to school longer?
A nurse’s job seems more difficult than an X-Ray tech’s job. They deal directly with patients. They go to school for two more years. If they make a mistake, it could cost someone their life.

Best answer:

Answer by Jessica S
It seems like more people are nurses than X-ray techs. Perhaps it’s all back to supply and demand.

Question by Kris24: What do you think is more difficult as a job a registered nurse or paralegal?
I am thinking of going back to school and at least get a associates degree what do you think won’t be as stressful or difficult?

Best answer:

Answer by Boomn4x4
the RN is the easier job. RN’s are typically union jobs, the longer you are there, the less you have to do.

As a paralegal, as you become more experienced.. you will be expected to take on more responsibility.

Why don’t we outsource MORE jobs, if it would help American companies be more effective?

Question by Lever: Why don’t we outsource MORE jobs, if it would help American companies be more effective?
It would lower the price cost of things. Imagine if companies outsourced all jobs that can be done in China or elsewhere for a fraction of the cost (there are millions of people who speak English outside of America) and professional jobs, like nursing, could be done by H1B1 visas (foreign people who have a college degree and come in temporarily and then get switched with a new set of people).

In the long run, isn’t this what’s best?

Become an ARNP, a nurse with the right master’s degree. They make as much as physicians. They can prescribe medication, develop a treatment plan and the insurance companies pay them as much as physicians.

Jobs Q&A: Which has more opportunities for travel/advancement and job openings, dental hygienist or nurse?

Question by jmelvin587: Which has more opportunities for travel/advancement and job openings, dental hygienist or nurse?
I am considering whether to be a nurse or dental hygienist. I realize that being a nurse has more career specialties. Are there also opportunities for advancement as a dental hygienist, such as starting one’s own practice or moving into management. Also, are there any “traveling dental hygienist” positions that are paid. Can you join the Peace Corps as a dental hygienist? I really want opportunities, job security, and flexibility in whatever job I choose, but I would also like a pleasant work environment.
