Have a Question about Nurse Support Jobs!!?!?

Question by Slith: Have a Question about Nurse Support Jobs!!?!?
I’m currently a prospective Nursing School Student (Still finishing up my PreReqs) working at a Bank making 12 bucks an hour in Queens,NY…I hate the banking business and and just started a CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) & Phlebotomy Course so I can get outta this Hell Hole,I wanted to do an EKG course as well but couldn’t afford it right now..and I am also Certified in CPR.My question is with all of my Certifications..what do u think I would be paid in say a Hospital or Clinic?? Does not having the EKG Cert. hurt me a lot in regard to pay? (P.S. I have previous volunteer experience in a HealthCare Setting) ….Thank You in Advance! I’m hoping to see a significant increase in pay, maybe somewhere close to $ 20/hourly..with a new job in the healthcare field :-)

You are not going to get a Patient Care Tech or Nursing Support job for $ 20 an hour. You might start off around $ 12-13 an hour base pay, and throw evening/night/weekend bonus on it might bring it to $ 16 but even in NYC, you are not going to start off at $ 20. You’d be better off to wait tables and hope for good tips if you want $ 20 an hour.

Question about nursing college?

Question by Juno: Question about nursing college?
I’m 19 years old, & I’ve been home schooled
since the 3rd grade so I got my GED in 2010.
I’d really like to become a nurse but I want to make sure that’s
what I want to do because people say there’s alot of different
types of nurses & medical assistant positions out there but I’m not
sure which one to choose because there’s so many. Is there a website
that I could go to that will help me out at all?

I am not a nurse , not in a nursing program, but I am an enrolled student at Excelsior…

First, for the best available information on the program here is the link to the http://www.excelsior.edu/ College School Of Nursing Catalog.

I just gave it a quick scan and it does look like they accept EMTs.

rutgers admissions question for college of nursing?

Question by lilhearts: rutgers admissions question for college of nursing?
im going into my senior of high school this september. i know its better to apply earlier, like in august, but im still taking my final SATs in october. is it possible for me to apply in august with my current SAT score, and then send my new one asap in october, or is that too late?

Best answer:

Answer by SJ12305
I am going to take the SAT in October again too so I know where you are coming from. I am not absolutely sure on what is the best on this matter, but I think it would make more sense to apply when you are finished all your SATs because I don’t know the process of sending in new scores after you apply.

This is something you should discuss with one of the nursing or pre-nursing counselors at your school. Or else, check and see if your school offers nursing information sessions and attend one of them so you know if you are going about on the right path.

If you don’t feel comfortable (or don’t have the time) to meet with a counselor, you can always email them your questions. Just go under the academic -> nursing section on your community college’s website and find the email of one of the nursing professors, head-of, or admission counselors.
