Once I become a registered nurse, can I join the US Air Force as a nurse?

Question by s: Once I become a registered nurse, can I join the US Air Force as a nurse?
I was hoping to someday have a job as a nurse in the Air Force… My question is: Is there a process where only certain people are selected? If so, is there something I can do to increase my chance of being selected? Do I have to just have wait for a spot to open? Or would I have an immediate spot? What would the application process be like?

Thanks you!

Yes, but you need to talk to an Air Force recruiter to find out how much education you need to be most competitive as the requirements are always changing.

If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?

Question by Tim: If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?
If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?

Do I get to boss around assistant nurses? How many patients are typically assigned to a nurse? Would I have to use the bedpan for my patients or would I be able to boss some assistant nurse to do it? What happens if one of my patients has diarrhea or needs to go every 10 minutes?

The only reason I am thinking about becoming a registered nurse is because of pay, lots of nurse openings, and job security. If anyone can find a job requiring an associates with similar pay and shortage of the job PLEASE let me know.

well to begin with you would not make a good nurse if you are just after pay, im currently in school with alot of nursing majors and it is hard work and if helping patients isnt your reason of going please dont go, but to answer your questions, no you do not get to boss anyone around, depends on where you are you could have up to 20 patients maybe more, you would be doing the bed pans sometimes, if that is the case you have to take them because the doctor will boss you around and tell you to do it..YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD!!!!!!

Apply to hospitals, elderly homes, private clinics or bloodbanks, but all of these require a certain level of knowledge of the Dutch language. My advise will be start with the language. I assume you already have a work permit and you know that you’ll probably need to go to school again.

here are some websites of hospitals:

Stay at home job for a registered nurse?

Question by moniquernc: Stay at home job for a registered nurse?
I have a eight month old daughter and recently relocated to Atlanta, I have been home with her for the past three months and I longer want to go back to work. I am a registered nurse who has worked in a special care nursery for the last ten years. I am looking for a stay at home job where I can use my nursing degree.

Check with attorneys or insurance companies in your area. My sister-in-law just adopted a baby, she had to quit her job. As an RN, she didn’t think she could really do anything for a while. However, an attorney in the adoption proceedings asked her audit documents that have medical terminology as he has no clue if they are right, wrong, etc. She of course is thrilled…she can do it in her spare time and it is a solution.
Good luck.

Is a REGISTERED NURSING education all that challenging or just general college fare?

Question by Hairy: Is a REGISTERED NURSING education all that challenging or just general college fare?

Best answer:

Answer by sweetyebug3
Are you speaking of monetary values when you say general college fare? A degree in nursing is very challenging, we started with 65 students and the graduating class was 27, so it takes hard work and dedication, mentally and physically, it is not for the faint of heart. Do not kid your self, the rewards are many, besides a pretty good paycheck, you can get a job anywhere you go, and it is emotionally rewarding too, and can be emotionally devastating at times. Do not go into it unless you are serious and cam give up a lot of a social life for a couple of yrs.

What do you think is more difficult as a job a registered nurse or paralegal?

Question by Kris24: What do you think is more difficult as a job a registered nurse or paralegal?
I am thinking of going back to school and at least get a associates degree what do you think won’t be as stressful or difficult?

Best answer:

Answer by Boomn4x4
the RN is the easier job. RN’s are typically union jobs, the longer you are there, the less you have to do.

As a paralegal, as you become more experienced.. you will be expected to take on more responsibility.

Is the job of certified registered nurse anesthesia very risky?

Question by the best: Is the job of certified registered nurse anesthesia very risky?
I want to know if the chance to injurying or may be killing somebody by accident with this job are high. I also what to know if patient are suing there nurses in great amount

Best answer:

Answer by anesthesiagirl
Any job where you administer drugs is risky, but the drugs a CRNA administers (as well as some of the procedures) can cause severe injury /death. Their training is intensive and they must pass a rigorous test before practicing. They also must have several years of intensive care nursing. Anyone who works w/ anesthesia takes a person as close to death as you can get- so yes, their risks and malpractice potential for lawsuits are high.
