Question by phny02: A recent graduate nurse from FAMU stuck in Florida without a job in sight and wants to work in Georgia?
Recent grad from FAMU school of nursing and has yet to find a job in Florida.Would like to move to Georgia and work as a Registered Nurse. Started the process of applying for a Georgia RN license.
My question is- could or should she begin applying at Metro Atlanta Hospitals or should she wait until she receives her license Georgia RN license?

Any reciprocity on licensing between GA & FL? Or do you have to take exams & get GA license? If covered by reciprocity, go ahead and apply noting FL license & reciprocity. If no reciprocity, note FL license & application for GA license is being processed. Put that info in your cover letter.
What experience do you have? Rotations in school? What else? Even if you can get in some volunteer work, it will help.
Check out other states’ requirements as well! And see about nearby universities to places where you apply to see about getting into BSN program while you’re working.
