I also had to taken chemistry and physics in order to prepare for nursing. The course I took was developed for those with no prior knowledge of chemistry. We focused on the periodical table, knowing the elements. The symbols for each element, the weight etc. I am now in third year nursing and the only time I’ve used any of my chemistry knowledge has been when a chemical symbol comes up. NA is a big one. K also. 02. NA is sodium, K is potassium and 02 is oxygen. I would focus on knowing the symbols, will give you a heads up.
Good luck.

I am not entirely sure what you are asking…so this may be not the answer you are looking for. What medical program (vrs school) are you referring to? Are you already a CRNA looking for a job? Are you in the US? In the US, you must get your bachelors of science as a RN (BSRN) from a y4 year nursing program at a university, then work for at least one year in critical care, then apply to an accredited CRNA program (where ever it is). The program does not matter as long at is an accredited CRNA program that leads to the correct certification.

Question by : Can I take nursing license exam in my home state instead of taking them where I went to college?
I am in a nursing school in NH. I wasn’t sure if there was some way I could take my exams in my home state so I wouldn’t need to pay more money for another license… does anyone know if this is possible?

Answer by Common Sense
Of course it is. Why would you think otherwise? Go to your home state and take it.

Question by rose etoiles: Is it possible to work as an Enrolled Nurse in Australia while taking a part time nursing degree?
I planned to do that, but I realised that while the demand for Enrolled Nurses isn’t high, it isn’t easy to get a nursing job as an EN in Australia.. My main reason is to study a part time degree in Nursing and at the same time, work as an EN in any nearby hospital. I am from Singapore. It won’t be easy, but anyone could give any information? thanks.

If you are an enrolled nurse you could apply for an agency and work through them. You will need to bring your qualifications with you and might have to do a conversion at TAFE. Enrolled nurses are trained through a TAFE degree (used to be through a hospital over 2 years), so its something you still need qualifications for.

Question by Danny W: If I want to become a male nurse, will taking a medical class in high school improve my chance?
If I want to become a male nurse when I get out of high school. Will taking classes like Health Team Relations, Biomedical Technology, and HOSA help my chances of getting into a nursing school or get a nursing job in a hospital or something?
Best answer:
Answer by bethany
I only think it will look better on an application when you apply to actually be a nurse. Nursing is in high demand and you can almost get a job anywhere you apply but hospitals are only going to look at your college experience and the fact they you know what you are doing.

It depends on the program you are going into; the one that I am in required 1 year of bio and 1 year of chem before enrollment, then during the program we got 2 semesters of Anatomy, 1 semester of microbio and 1 semester of Biochem.
