Question by Jenny: Can a nurse working in Vietnam work abroad in the United States without taking cut-throat expensive courses?
I was wondering if a nurse in Vietnam come over and work in the United Sates without having to take expensive courses? The courses in Vietnam that allows nurses to come over and work in the United States are cut-throat expensive and it doesn’t seem worth the money. I wonder if there are other ways?

you will need to pass the state boards where you plan to practice/work. I do not believe that there are any additional courses.

I’m 20 going onto 21 and I’ve been in city college since fall 2005. I’m trying to get into the nursing program at my school, but I find it frustrating and hard. I’m finished with all my classes, but one: microbiology. I’ve been having a hard time with this class. should I just save myself trouble and change my major or just find a job? what are other alternate ways to a nursing degree?

Well nursing schools really don’t require all that much from high school to get accepted… What they do require are certain college level courses such as…
Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2
General Chemestry 103 or higher
Biology and/or Microbiology
College Algebra
College Composition 1 & 2
Psychology or Sociology
Now this is for most of the nursing schools around where I live… And it’s for both 2 and 4 year nursing programs. So like I said they really don’t care what you take in high school, but taking some of these courses in high school (especially the sciences) will really help you when you take them in college. Oh… and be sure to try and get good grades in the college level courses. If the program starts getting full, then they might be the only advantage you have over everyone else applying.
Hope this helps!
And Good Luck!!

Question by lillypadrose: What is the recommended order for taking basic science classes in college for nursing major?
Which order would be recommended for taking basic science courses for nursing major: biology, microbiology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology?
Best answer:
Answer by Science Geek
Chemistry –> Biology –> Microbiology –> Anatomy –> Physiology.
You can change the order of the last 3, but definetly take chemistry before biology. I know most colleges don’t require it, but I think it works out better that way.

You should take chemistry, then biology, then microbiology, then Anatomy and physiology. That seems like a reasonable method.

Question by snoopy: What are the disadvantages and advantages of taking Nursing in college?
I’m a 4th year student and I’m planning to take up college because I find working abroad interesting… Can you share your knowledge about this course?
Best answer:
Answer by Crypt
Well, the big advantage is that if you want to be a nurse it will show you how. The main disadvantage is that it doesn’t really apply to many other career paths, such as truck driver or IT support technician.

Question by Nutmeg408: Which colleges offer nursing programs well you are taking college?
I would like to go to Azusa Pacific University because it offers a nursing program your sophomore year of college. The program takes 4 years to complete. But the thing is I take the program during regular college instead of after college. It gets the nursing school done quicker…Is there another college that offers this same thing?
Best answer:
Answer by Snark
I have no idea what you mean by “regular college” vs. “after college”.
Typically, for a BSN, you need a few years of prerequisite classes, then you go into the nursing program.
Even for an ASN, you need a few years of prereq’s, then a two-year nursing program.
