Jobs Q&A: Can a neonatal nurse please tell me if in that job you get to hold the babies and feed them much?

Question by Jazzmin: Can a neonatal nurse please tell me if in that job you get to hold the babies and feed them much?
I am a junior in high school and have recently become interested in neonatal nursing as a career path after I graduate. I just love babies! And I was just wondering if anyone who is a neonatal nurse could tell me whether or not you get to be close to and hold the babies much that you work with? What all is involved in the job overall? How often do you have to work weekends, holidays, etc?
Thanks

Don’t know that much about the job but I’m sure you get to hold the babies SOME but probably not that much… I know that when I was in the hospital having my son I never sent him to the nursery…. he stayed with me the entire time. And if the babies are in the NICU then no, you won’t be holding them. Nobody will. They will be in an incubator.

They do the same things in Spain that we do in the US. With the possible exceptions of Flamenco dancers and bullfighters, that is.

I’ll bet soccer players get paid differently there than here.

farming, manufacturing, Technology, etc. Lots of bar owners…more mom and pop type restaurants than in the US (meaning they work harder, and get paid less than people who run franchises).

Can I take nursing license exam in my home state instead of taking them where I went to college?

Question by : Can I take nursing license exam in my home state instead of taking them where I went to college?
I am in a nursing school in NH. I wasn’t sure if there was some way I could take my exams in my home state so I wouldn’t need to pay more money for another license… does anyone know if this is possible?

Of course it is. Why would you think otherwise? Go to your home state and take it.

What do I do about my puppies, their Mom refuses to nurse them?

Question by godsarmy1984: What do I do about my puppies, their Mom refuses to nurse them?
I have a dog and she had nine puppies a month ago and just in the last few days she has decided to stop feeding them or paying them any attention. I know they need to still nurse from her but she won’t, so what can I do to feed them. We don’t have the money to get the puppy milk, so what else can we do to feed them?

What is a nurse practitioner and why would I chose them over my doctor?

Question by Angel: What is a nurse practitioner and why would I chose them over my doctor?
I can get in faster at my doctors office if I chose to see their nurse practitioner instead of my doctor. However I’ve seen two of them (over the course of my seeing this doctor) and they’ve usually been so bad I had to go see my doctor later on to fix it. So what exactly do they do?

Well they aren’t doctors, but can prescribe medications. They are RN’s who went on and got an advanced nursing degree. Some are required to work under another doctor, but I think in some areas they can open their own practice.
