Immigrating to Canada as a nurse without selling house first?

Question by Ronald: Immigrating to Canada as a nurse without selling house first?
I am 51 and have spoken to the immigration board in Canada and they say that i must sell all of my possessions first in order to take the exam. But if i don’t get the job then i have to buy another house. I don’t really want to take this risk. Is there not another way to get a job as a nurse without selling my possessions?

There is no “immigration board” in Canada. Are you sure you have not been talking to a private agency who want to tie you down?

You don’t have to sell your house or possessions. Sounds like a scam..

Question by PrivateName112: Is it possible to study nursing in college and then change to be an accountant? without paying extra money?
i think i might want to become an rn but i am not sure. I plan on shadowing a nurse in january.. but college apps are due november.. So if i apply to a school and put that i want to be in the nursing program.. could i some how change it to be an accountant before school starts without any fees. and the reason im putting nursing first is because its a hard program to get into right? And wait.. you dont get accepted into the program till a year after your in college. after you take the pre reqs? So.. if i take those biology classes and stuff. could those still count as credits to my accountant classes without any fees.?

thank you in advance.

You can absolutely change your mind before school starts without any fees. Unless you have a scholarship or award that was given to you because you wanted to go into nursing there shouldn’t be a problem. An accountant would still need electives and usually at least one science class, so most of your classes would probably transfer over fine and you wouldn’t end up with any useless credits, but be careful planning that first semester and don’t take anything that won’t count for both (most freshman classes will though)

Yes. Just being a RN (Registered Nurse) pays a lot as well. You can make between $ 50,000 and $ 80,000 (the $ 80,000 is in the Bay Area of California) depending on where you live and work. Also after a couple years of experience you can become a travel RN and make even more and sometimes you get free housing for where you are working or if not you get extra compensation for an estimated cost of housing and you rent an apartment or stay at a hotel. Nursing can be done with an accredited ADN (Associates Degree in Nursing) or a BSN (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree). Also finding a job will be easy because there has been a shortage of Nurses and the baby boomers that are Nurses are getting close to retiring ssoon (next couple of years) so there will be an even bigger shortage.
