would it be less stressful, more stressful, or about the same to be a ultrasound technician than a nurse?

Question by marklar: would it be less stressful, more stressful, or about the same to be a ultrasound technician than a nurse?
I am considering becoming an ultrasound technician/sonographer or a nurse. A nurse has more job demand, but a technician might be more enjoyable. I’m not sure which one I would like better. I would appreciate any information that would help me decide. Thank you!
would I be able to find a job in almost any location I wanted if I were a technician? or would that require even higher job demand, like being a nurse. I might like to live in or near Seattle, Washington.

It would be much more stressful to be a nurse. Their job demands much more from them and they see much more.

Congratulate him on choosing a commendable career with lots of options and great pay!!

I’m not sure if you are trying to imply something about sexuality and being a male nurse, but I know tons of male nurses and they are all very secure with their manhood.

Question by Robin Sparkles: Would a nurse practitioner working at Mass General Hospital make enough to live in Devonshire Apartments?
I got a job as a nurse practitioner at Mass Gen and I am looking for apartments. Is Devonshire way overpriced? It seems really luxurious.. would i be able to afford this? it’d be one bedroom or I’d have a roomate with a two bedroom. I wouldn’t get anything unecessary… but I want to live in the city and have a nice view of the city.

If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?

Question by Tim: If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?
If I become a registered nurse, what would I do?

Do I get to boss around assistant nurses? How many patients are typically assigned to a nurse? Would I have to use the bedpan for my patients or would I be able to boss some assistant nurse to do it? What happens if one of my patients has diarrhea or needs to go every 10 minutes?

The only reason I am thinking about becoming a registered nurse is because of pay, lots of nurse openings, and job security. If anyone can find a job requiring an associates with similar pay and shortage of the job PLEASE let me know.

Answer by curlygirl
well to begin with you would not make a good nurse if you are just after pay, im currently in school with alot of nursing majors and it is hard work and if helping patients isnt your reason of going please dont go, but to answer your questions, no you do not get to boss anyone around, depends on where you are you could have up to 20 patients maybe more, you would be doing the bed pans sometimes, if that is the case you have to take them because the doctor will boss you around and tell you to do it..YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD!!!!!!

What majors would I need to study and where should I go to school to get these jobs?

Question by Skypo: What majors would I need to study and where should I go to school to get these jobs?
I’ve decided that when I grow up, I want to be either an obstetrician or a neonatal nurse. What majors do they offer for people pursuing these jobs? What schools offer those majors?

Best answer:

Answer by Devyn
Surprisingly, a lot of colleges offer those majors. My recommendation to you would be to narrow it down to WHERE you want to go to school geographically. For example, do you want to go to school in Kansas? Or do you prefer to be near the ocean and want to be in Florida.

What jobs would I qualify for as a medical assistant?

Question by PeguinBackPacker: What jobs would I qualify for as a medical assistant?
What jobs would I qualify for if I get certified as a medical assistant besides medical assistant? My brother’s professor says I could qualify for nurse’s aid also along with medical assistant. What else? What is the job demand for medical assistant? What does the class require? Does this skill transfer easily country to country (say I qualify in the US, will such qualifications be accepted in Europe?) or just within the US?
Answer what questions you can best to your knowledge. I know these question are broad, but that is because I know little. The more information I know, the more defined and detailed further questions will be.
I thank you for your assistance ahead of time. Thank you and have a nice day.

Not much, actually.

MAs can work in a variety of medical settings, but are usually found in clinics and private practices. The most marketable skills they have are doing vital signs … and that can’t take you very far. Nurse’s aides, if they are certified, can do a bit more, but the area of highest demand is in nursing homes. Either way, career growth is fairly limited. For one more year of training, a bit more in the way of advancement and options can be had — radiation technology, for one, a definitely growing field.

Would working at a nursing home as a housekeeper help prepare me for a job as a nurse after high school?

Question by Constantly Curious: Would working at a nursing home as a housekeeper help prepare me for a job as a nurse after high school?
I am too young to be a CNA, and our school does not have a HOSA. I know that I will be cleaning up bodily fluids as well, but, hey maybe it will make me appreciate what I have later on in life.
also, what will I be doing?
Will I be able to make a patients day a little bit brighter??
please, absolutely NO website info about makin money online!

Best answer:

Answer by Mother M
Absolutely! Any job in a healthcare environment will be helpful in preparation to be a nurse or any career in the healthcare field.

Being a housekeeper will provide you with a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the healthcare environment. Also, when you become a nurse, you will have a much deeper appreciation for the hard work that the housekeepers do!

Yes, you will be able to make a patient’s day brighter. I work at a hospital and know that housekeepers have an incredibly important job. A cheery hello while cleaning a room can have a big impact on a patient. Also…statistics show that patients will frequently open up and share information with housekeepers that they might not share with other members of the healthcare staff – like an abusive home situation. So, you see… ALL members of the team are important.

Most people do it for money.

Nurse is hottest job in US, associate degree RN can make $ 120K a year in CA, much more than Lawyer, Professor, Mayor.

In Silicon Valley, no body wants to be engineer, IT ,Nano, Biotech…only want to be nurse. The fastest and easiest way to make money, and many patients don’t pay the bill( real astronomical money), insurance pay it and increase premium every year and Many American companies outsoursing other countries.

But most nurse don’t want to care patients, it is just a artistic slogan to say it.
