How do you feel about women taking high paying jobs away from men who are supposed to be the breadwinners?

Question by Sandstorm222: How do you feel about women taking high paying jobs away from men who are supposed to be the breadwinners?
I think we would have a much lower unemployment rate if women would stop going to college for high paying jobs in the business and government sector. If they want to go to college they should pick something with feminine and nurturing qualities like being a nurse. You know what I am saying?

A lot are restricting to 18 and older because of the lifts that you cannot use until you are 18 but there are still some that can do any age. It depends on the agency.

One of the high paying jobs for nurses offering here at Qatar is the Hammad Hospital, this is government owned company. They pay at least QR10000 basic plus accommodation.

Question about becoming a nurse?

Question by danglesmcnasty: Question about becoming a nurse?
I really want to become a nurse, but everyone i hear keeps saying there are so many people going to nursing school you’ll have such a hard time after you make it out of school finding work and stuff. how true is this? I’m so afraid that after all the money I will put into this I’ll be stuck with a useless degree in something I can’t even get a job in. You always hear of nursing shortages, but what they don’t tell you is that there’s such an overflow of grad nurses without jobs. Any advice will be appreciated!

There are not anywhere NEAR enough spaces in current nursing education to fill the slots. I still have one semester left to obtain my BSN and I just got hired as a Student Nurse. The people I have talked to often have multiple offers when they graduate. One hospital out in the subburbs of Houston is paying $ 10,000 signing bonuses for experienced nurses. We have SEVERAL new facilities opening up. As experienced nurses move, openings become available for new nurses.

I do not ever anticipate having a problem finding a job once I graduate.

Q&A: Any Nurse graduates from Barnes Jewish College of Nursing in St. Louis Missouri working in CA?

Question by armando: Any Nurse graduates from Barnes Jewish College of Nursing in St. Louis Missouri working in CA?
I am a male 20yo pre-nursing student, live in Los Angeles California. I am thinking about applying to Barnes Jewish College of Nursing for the 2012 terms. If I am accepted or put on the waitlist over the next couple of years, I will be stoked!! I’m really eager to get my BSN.

My question is, Did anyone that graduated from Goldfarb’s Barnes Jewish College have trouoble finding a job in CA? Im not sure how the licensing transfer from MO to CA works, but would it be difficult for me to do so? Im so use to LA I would like to work here in the future.

Each state issues its own registered nurse (RN) license. Just because you got your license from one state doesn’t mean that you cannot immediately begin working in another state. All you need to do is learn about transferring RN license before you apply and seek employment as an RN in a different state. Most states will recognize your license and do not require any additional tests – these are considered as reciprocal states. If they require you to undergo further tests, they’re called non-reciprocal states.

Should I go to college for psychology or nursing?

Question by Why Do We Fall?: Should I go to college for psychology or nursing?
I am currently in college, and I was originally going to college for nursing, but now I’m not so sure if that’s what I really want to do. In my mind I feel like I was only going for nursing because nurses make good money and because it wouldn’t take that long to finish school to become a nurse. I had always wanted to be a psychologist or a counselor, and now I am really debating if that’s the thing I should go to school for. I’m only going to go for my master’s degree in either psychology or in counseling, and it will take me two more years than what it would to get my bachelor’s in nursing. I’m just concerned if I won’t be able to find a job as a counselor once I’m done. I’m not interested in the money anymore, but I would like to make a decent living. Will I be happy if I go with psychology or should I just stick with nursing? Please any anwers you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
