Can I get a job as a Grad Nurse in Indiana or do I have to wait to pass the NCLEX?

Question by Maria: Can I get a job as a Grad Nurse in Indiana or do I have to wait to pass the NCLEX?
I just graduated last week, and I’ve been looking for places to work as a Grad Nurse. Everywhere I look it says I either need 1-2 years experience, as well as my license. I don’t take the boards until the end of the month. So, if I can’t work as a grad nurse, what other positions can I apply for from now until I pass the boards?

I just took the PSB exam to get into nursing at my local college…how do you determine the score?

Question by Tarah B: I just took the PSB exam to get into nursing at my local college…how do you determine the score?
Your Question

I know it is on a point system, but the printout I got only shows raw score and percentiles…does anyone know how the point system works with that? I have to get 12 points to get in the nursing program…I can’t get my results read till Monday so please help if you know how it works!! PS I am in Texas and I think I did really good:)

It’s a really strange scoring method and isn’t very clear; they don’t give you a score but instead a percentage like you mentioned. The percentage tells how well you did in comparison to their “test group” not the people you are actually competing with to get into your program. So there’s no way to REALLY know how you did. You many score in the 90th percentile according to the test (and the test group), but against the students in your school, it may be equivalent to performing in the 80th percentile. The only thing that gave me an idea of how I did was after I took the test, the lady mentioned that I did better than most of the scores she had seen. But that’s it. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see…good luck to you!! :)

Considering attending Rutgers University, New Brunswick College of Nursing; am applying for EOF. See details!?

Question by michelle a: Considering attending Rutgers University, New Brunswick College of Nursing; am applying for EOF. See details!?
1. I had an interview w/ the college of nursing @ Rutgers Newark and it went really well, but they said that if I were to attend Rutgers Newark, College of Nursing EOF, I would have to attend Rutgers Newark, which I dont. Is this true?

2. does Rutgers- New Brunswick, College of Nursing have a EOF program as well?

3. if I get into Rutgers- Newark, College of Nursing, can I also get into Rutgers- New Brunswick, College of Nursing since that is the one i applied to and not the one in Newark?

4. I already got into Rutgers, New Brunswick through the School of Arts and Sciences and the Rutgers Business School; both at New Brunswick, but I really am pushing for the College of Nursing although I know I should be happy with the Business School @ N.B., because it is really coveted, but im not settling.

PLEASE ANSWER QUESTION IN FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS…

Question by more than words: I want to be a nurse when I am older so I am wondering do nurses make good money?
and I heard that nurses don’t have lives because they must always be on call for work. Is this true? Can nurses make their own hours? And is it easy to find a job as a nurse right now or is the medical industry packed tight?

Have a crush on a male nursing student at my college, need communication advice?

Question by Kim: Have a crush on a male nursing student at my college, need communication advice?
Serious question, I am a nursing student and met a male nursing student.?
So I did not see him for a while and I wrote him on facebook randomly, and he said “Now I remember your the petite redhead . class is good .good luck on your finals. I will see you at school Im sure. ”
So I I want to continue the conversation but am not sure if he is interested. I basically need advice on my next move.

Best answer:

Answer by superdooper_man
Uh facebook, what a bad way to try to start conversations…….
Depends on what you wrote initially…..

You could always respond, but I would do it ‘via msgs’ and not on the ‘wall’ as if he wanted to respond in anyway to you in regards to ‘going on date etc…’ it might be ‘weird’ to do it on ‘your wall’…. and he might not want to intitiate the private msg… so I don’t know…….. try doing it via a private msg…

I.e. Yup I am that petite redhead =), Yea I hope the finals won’t be that hard…. blah blah blah small talk…. Hope to see you at school as well…….”

ANd leave it at that, in the tennis game you have now left it in the ‘maybe we should meet up for coffee play on his part’…..

Don’t know what else to say in regards as thats as far as I can see in my crystal ball
