Ummm, it's the 21st century so it was bound to happen. Women have been FIGHTING for equality since the men came back from WW2, when the women had to deal with everything themselves while the men were away.
Women are perfectly capable of being able to deal with the pressure of the high paying jobs because, you see, that's why they were given to them in the first place. Employers can't be sexist or they'll be sued.

With an attitude like that....you got no chance with women.

um, excuse you, you sexist little pig, but men are NOT always the breadwinners. women have just as much freedom and rights as men do. i already plan on going to college and becoming a forensic scientist. i made the National Honor Society, and my brother is failing 10th grade with three E's, one D-. and a D. so stick that in your juice box and suck it.

You know you sound like a sexist douche. Grow up. Women have just as much of a right as any man to go to college and get a job. Women don't have to rely on men for anything, and that's the way it has been since the 50's.

you could work as a phlebotimist if this was a skill you were good at. I'm sure you realize that if you don't use your nursing degree this means you take a paycut. So if that doesn't matter go for it. Also have you considered getting out of the hospital setting and trying homecare. I found this very rewarding and a nice change from the hospital setting. I think you could also pursue a job as a Case Manager for the hospital. This uses your degree as well but does not involve direct patient care.

You could work as a Unit Secretary, or Medical Secretary if you have some clerical skills, there's still lots you can do in the healthcare field. You could work as a Medical Assistant, check doctor offices see if they are looking for an Office Manager. Pre-admitting, patient registration, course there are other things too, you should look at hospital web sites and review job qualifications. In your case I would include a cover letter, when HR or hiring managers sees your resume and sees you didn't keep your license up they will wonder why - it's a red flag to us - so say something regarding your situation and why you no longer wish to purse a career as an RN, and why you perusing a different career.
