In my state, you can do a 2-year nursing program and get your RN. These are offered at community colleges. Or you can do 4 years and get your BSN. There are additional certificates required for things like OBGYN nurse, surgical assistant, or wound care. Most of these require working for a period of time and then applying for the certificate. good luck

You need a bachelor of science in nursing, ( to become an Registured Nurse ) which is usually 4 ish years at a university, then you would have to take the courses necessary that point more towards OB/GYN. ob/gyn is 2 different things, but usually ” go together “. OB is obstetrics and GYN is gynecology . obstetrics is specialty dealing with the care of women and their children during pregnancy (prenatal period), childbirth and the postnatal period and gynecology is is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (uterus, vagina, and ovaries). Im not from the US so im not sure on schools sorry. OR you could become an LPN or LVN you could still work in L&D you just couldnt do all the cool things an RN can do. and also not go to school for as long aprox 2 ish years
An RN has way more opportunities then a LPN or LVN you can basically be a nurse wherever you want in a hospital setting ex :L&D, med-surg, OR or ER ectt. You just have to choose what you love to do
hope this helped alittle
