Jobs Q&A: Is a nurse allowed to have visible tattoos?

Question by Heidi: Is a nurse allowed to have visible tattoos?
I’m currently in school to become a nurse. I have a tattoo that you can see on the back of my neck that continues on down my back. You can only see it on my neck when my hair is up. It’s just a star design, nothing offensive. Can this hinder my chances of getting a job as a nurse? Thank you for any and all answers!

It depends on the employer but I work with some nurses that have visible tatoos and it not a problem.
